“Discussing experiences leads to heightened well-being, increased overall life satisfaction and even more energy”

Nathaniel Lambert

About me

I have worked in the caring profession for over 25 years. I hold a primary degree in psychology and a Masters in psychotherapy from Dublin City University.  Along with a Conflict resolution and family mediation qualification from University College Dublin. I have completed group facilitations skills in Trinity College Dublin and have a long history of delivering training and process groups. I have tuition and experience of working with suicidal thoughts and ideation (A.S.S.I.T) and a trauma informed care approach. I have worked for 16 years with individuals wanting support with addiction and also family members who have been impacted.  I have three years employment in a mental health facility working with those with a range of mental health diagnosis. I have extensive experience of working with couples.

Throughout life my emphasis has been on relationship building and compassion based practice. I use an integrative and person centered approach. This means that the I tailor the process to meet the need of clients. My multifaceted approach encompasses a range of clinical modalities including psychodynamic, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (C.B.T), humanistic, Dialectical behavioural Therapy (D.B.T), Emotion Focused Therapy, Internal Family systems (I.F.S) and Hakomi. The latter is a somatic based psychotherapy which invites one to understand more deeply your present experience and unconscious beliefs enabling this information to come into conscious. Thus aiding the process of change. I have completed 45 days training in the Hakomi method.

I find this work hugely rewarding and it is a joy to witness transformations through the process of counselling. I view this work as a journey. Every person will come with a different destination in mind. My purpose is to support you in the best way possible. The most important thing is to take the first step, which can feel daunting. I am happy to have an informal chat with you and if you would like to proceed to counselling we can complete a few sessions to check if this feels like the right fit. I can conduct sessions in person in my rooms, or through walk and talk sessions in nature. Or online if you prefer.  If you have any questions please feel free to get in contact and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

“Therapy is a mutual conversation through which a new reality may be born”
Thanks to Sarah I don't think I have ever felt so calm, collected and confident.... The skills that I have learnt have been instrumental in allowing me to move through the challenges and disappointments over the past few years and are very much part of the way I choose to live my life now.
From our very first meeting I started on an incredible journey. One that I did not expect to take me to so many places. I trusted Sarah and I can find that very difficult. I am glad of that space now. I am in a much better place in my self and in my relationship. I feel things don't trigger me in the same way at all and I have learnt a lot.  My only regret is that I did not come seeking  sooner.
